Seasons Greetings from Homeschool

I'm tired, I don't wanna do work, why do we have to do work, it's almost Christmas.
This is the stuff I am hearing from my boys. Handwriting gets alot of this, and math.
What do you do when this happens? Extend school? Early bedtimes? Yea, my kids don't go to bed till 10, but fact is, school doesn't start till 10. They do one subject in the morning, and two in the afternoon. Normally the day starts off with handwriting, the first three days of the week. Really it's copywork, and it's not so hard. My kids have horrible handwriting anyway, tho my 6yo. can write better then my 12yo. sometimes.
My 12yo. should be writing short stories, but I doubt if I could read it. He is creative, and upset that he missed the deadline for the doritos game creating contest. He was excited at first, but lost his enthusiasm quick.
Doesn't help my moral, but I do know I am teaching them. I know they are learning what they need to know. Why does it have to be such a chore. Sometimes we do end up doing fun things tho. Of course with many different boys to teach they do tend to differ in what's fun and whats not.
Boggle for example, fun to some, work to others. My oldest is a phonetic speller, so it helps him alot. My second oldest is the brain of the boys, so of course he enjoys it. My 8yo has problems reading and writing, so he dreads it.
OK, the many trials and tribulations of homeschooling is done. I do it because I love teaching my children.
Been busy with the season, I need to keep up with my blog better. I promise I will tho!
